For many bloggers online nowadays, making money with a blog has become a reality they once only could dream of doing. However, there are still cynics who simply can not embrace this fact, due to their own self-limiting beliefs. Freeing ones self from self-limiting beliefs, however, is the first step towards overcoming and responding to the development of these mindsets to start with.
One way I have found to overcome my own self-limiting beliefs, and what eventually put me on the road to making money online, is blogging. While there are some individuals who simply aren’t ready for the task of making money blogging, it’s good for your own personal blogging efforts to remember why they are making a BIG mistake.
First off, when you determine to blog for money making purposes, you’re not blogging simply for the sake of “talking to hear your head rattle†(my Grandmothers favorite expression) You’re blogging from the standpoint of having insight, understanding and purpose! And since you enjoy blogging so much, then why not make money doing it? However, if you want to make money blogging, you may have to change the way you think about doing this. Think of blogging in this manner:
Blogging is a way to promote businesses that share mutual ideas & values
There’s no need to feel guilty for placing ads on your blog! More often than not, your readers do not purchase a product that is advertised on your blog simply because they saw it there. If they do happen to click on your ad and make a purchase, then it’s their personal decision and you had very little to do with it. At best, all you did was to inform and educate them about the benefits and rewards of the product. Ultimately, it is the buyers decision whether or not to make the purchase.
Blogging to make money is more than just about the money
With your blogs, you are able to provide people with information and educate them about the things they need to know. After all, isn’t this why they come to visit your blog to begin with? So, you’re not just some self-serving person in need of expressing themselves. You’re also providing a valuable service to people who trust in what you have to say, and also in what you can do to assist them in whatever way that you can. And again, why not get paid at the same time?
Blogging is an ethical way to earn money online
Listen, you are not in the business of trying to take something away from your readers! Your purpose in blogging is to provide the knowledge that you have to offer, and they in turn come seeking that knowledge. This is the essence of blogging, and when you get paid for it, this is your reward for being good at what you do. In my opinion, if you are a moral, ethical and legitimate blogger; and you know that there are others out there who are not, and who are selling people junk that doesn’t work or help them, then you are the one doing a disservice to your readers if you do not provide them with legitimate products that do work.
Stop Trying to Make Money Blogging!
I know this may sound contradictory, but, the main reason behind blogging is that you have something to share that people can actually make good use of. And if you get paid for it, it’s a well-deserved reward for all the hard work and effort you put into what you do. Listen, people can tell if you’re a phony and just after the money. Likewise, people can tell if the information at your blog is legitimate or not, or just there for the money you can make. So stop trying to make money blogging, and just let it happen as a result of the great information you provide!
Blogging to provide a valuable service to both the business community and those who wish to make money blogging, sharing something of value with others that they can make good use of, and helping people to succeed online isn’t such a bad way to make money now, is it?
