To choose a beautiful set of fonts for your project, you need to analyze your audience, the context of your text, and practical matters like height of the fonts, the readability of the content and reader age. You do not want to pick a font that is impossible to read for a poster in a nursing home. You also do not want to choose a font that is too dainty for the workplace. As usual, less is more, and you should find and experiement with several fonts and font combinations to see how the final result appears before finally deciding. Start with a set of basic fonts, and then experiment changing just a single design element at a time. And do not forget to have fun.
So, now that you have geared up to get some fonts, whatâs next? There are lots of downloads pages for free fonts. Most of them are fantastic but have a somewhat limited selection. A few of them are very forceful with pop-up ads and even malware (turn your anti-virus software on). And on most all sites, you can only download zip files. Once you download it, you unzip the font files (then remove the original zip file), and copy the unzipped font files to your font-folder. Itâs a rather convoluted procedure, in particular if you have multiple fonts you want to download. But there is a better wayâ¦
