Dartford crossing and Summer 2011

Hope everyone had a great summer. I went over Dartford crossing this weekend using car only lane. Paid required Â£1.50 and the barrier did not open. Paid again and still not open. After 4 mins the Highways Agency officer came and opened it. Why can't they upgrade the equipment. Nice crossing overall except for toll
