The BBC Trust which is the body responsible for making sure that license fee payer's money is used effective has allows BBC News and Sports apps to be launched on Iphone, Blackberry and Android platforms. BBC Worldwide has already launched their Ipad an Iphone app but this app is funded by advertising and can not be used for the UK.
The new BBC News UK App for Iphone is already in the App Store just search for "bbcnews". To get the app on Blackberry type http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/bbapps/ into the web browser on your phone and click on the icons to install the apps
If you have a BlackBerry Bold 2 (9700) or Storm 2 (9520/9550) you can download a short cut app for BBC iPlayer

The release of this app on the App Store, Blackbery App world and Android market is increase to the existings apps from other news organisations like CBS, MSNBC, NPR.
